As part of its long-standing pillar partnership with Meydan, Azizi Developments, a leading private developer in the UAE, sponsored Racing at Meydan, the regional race meet that features the GCC’s most prominent equestrians, through seven races named after some of its renowned projects, namely Riviera 1, Mina, Creek Views, Aliyah, Al Furjan, Mirage, and Riviera 2.

Azizi has also sponsored the Dubai World Cup Carnival, the run-up to the 25th Dubai World Cup (DWC), the richest day of horse-racing in the world, as well as the DWC itself.

During the race meet, which was hosted earlier today, on the 29th of February 2020, Mr Mirwais Azizi, Founder and Chairman of Azizi Developments; Mr Farhad Azizi, CEO of Azizi Developments; and other senior executives from the firm, awarded the winners of the seven races.

Mr Mirwais Azizi presented the trophies to the winners of the Al Furjan race – named after the new high-growth corridor of Dubai – Jim Crowley riding HAKEEM (GB), trained by Ali Rashid Al Rayhi and owned by HH Sheikh Hamdan bin Rashid Al Maktoum. Mr Farhad Azizi then handed the trophies to the winners of the Mina race – named after Azizi’s premium residential development on the east crescent of the iconic Palm Jumeirah – Xavier Ziani riding IMPORTANT MISSION (USA), trained by Salem bin Ghadayer and owned by HH Sheikh Juma bin Dalmook Al Maktoum.

Commenting on Azizi’s sponsorship, Mr Farhad Azizi said: “We are proud to be sponsoring this exceptional event again, and are pleased to not only bring together some of the world’s best equestrians but to also support the horse-racing culture and its development in Dubai and beyond. This sponsorship came as part of our strategic partnership with Meydan and is rooted in our pride and passion in supporting important events that bring communities together.”

“We look forward to more exhilarating races in the build-up to the Dubai World Cup, which will commence next month. We wish all participants the best of luck,” Azizi continued.

Azizi Developments is in alignment with the government’s pursuit of solidifying Dubai’s standing as a leading destination for sports and international high-calibre events. The developer sees this event is an ideal opportunity to encourage interest and participation in equestrianism as well as in Dubai’s rich heritage and vision.
