blu today became the first Middle Eastern brand in the history of Pattern (Nasdaq: PTRN) to join the global ecommerce accelerator’s portfolio. The Dubai-born wellness tech brand behind the blu Ionic Shower & Filter has sold more than one million products across the GCC and ranks number one in Showerhead Filters on Amazon.ae and in Shower Filters on noon.com/uae as at 17 August 2026. blu was built for international markets from day one, with Europe and North America as its first target markets. The move marks a milestone in that expansion — and reflects the rising influence of Middle Eastern innovation on the global consumer stage.

blu’s Founding Partners, Eng. Ahmed ElGibaly, CEO, and Lars Mourey, COO, said: “This agreement is a moment not just for blu, but for the Middle East. For 17 years we have built blu the hard way: self-funded, manufacturing our own products, and earning trust one shower at a time. The United Arab Emirates has been our strongest market throughout. Being the first Middle Eastern brand in Pattern’s portfolio reflects international confidence in what our part of the world can build. We look forward to bringing blu to customers across Europe and North America, while continuing to build here at home.”

David Quaife, Managing Director, Pattern MENA, said: “We are pleased to have signed an agreement with blu — the first brand from the Middle East to join our global portfolio. blu has established an exceptional track record of consumer trust, marketplace performance, and product innovation across the GCC, including the United Arab Emirates, and we see significant potential in bringing its products to customers in key international markets.”

The partnership advances the UAE’s ambitions in digital trade and homegrown brand-building, in line with the UAE Digital Economy Strategy, which targets doubling the digital economy’s contribution to GDP from 9.7% in 2022 to 19.4% within 10 years of the strategy’s launch. Taking a UAE-grown brand onto major international marketplaces reflects the country’s growing role as a hub for building, scaling, and exporting consumer businesses, connecting locally founded companies with global expertise and technology.

blu’s momentum rests on a broad review base: nearly 50,000 verified five-star reviews across Amazon, noon, Google, and Facebook — many of them written rather than star ratings alone. The brand also sits inside the top 3 of the parent Tools & Home Improvement category on Amazon.ae — ahead of everyday household staples — as at 17 August 2026. Demand is not confined to marketplaces: blu operates eight retail locations across the UAE, comprising dedicated stores in major malls and shop-in-shops in Carrefour, Géant, and Danube Home.

blu designs and manufactures all its own products and has launched 14 generations of its proprietary shower filtration technology since 2009. Its performance claims are supported by independent testing from internationally recognised laboratories including TÜV, SGS, and Eurofins, and its NMC filtration media is certified to NSF/ANSI 42. blu holds vendor agreements covering the Middle East and Africa with six international hotel groups — Accor, IHG, Marriott, Millennium, Minor Hotels, and Wyndham — and its products are used in nearly 100 hotels across the region, where they deliver a filtered shower for guests and support water- and energy-efficiency objectives.

Under the agreement, blu and Pattern will develop a phased acceleration and international expansion roadmap, combining blu’s product innovation and regional market expertise with Pattern’s capabilities in ecommerce technology, marketplace management, data analytics, and cross-border commerce. Financial terms of the agreement were not disclosed.

With the global wellness economy at US$6.8 trillion in 2024 and forecast to approach US$10 trillion by 2029, the partnership positions blu to scale internationally — and signals what UAE-born innovators can achieve on the global stage.
