Bollywood Dazzles Dubai With TOIFA 2016
TOIFA 2016 – Bollywood’s most celebrated awards show wraps up with a full house at the Dubai International Stadium, Dubai Sports City. With the wave of the most popular celebrities at the event, it was a complete entertainment gala for the Dubai fans. Along with the awards, Bollywood celebrities also won the audiences’ hearts with their performances, heartwarming speeches and special tributes.
The hosts for the evening, Riteish Deshmukh and Parineeti Chopra had the audience in splits with their perfect comic timing, quirky comments and playful interactions with the celebrities.
Speaking on co-hosting TOIFA 2016, Parineeti Chopra said, “I loved co-hosting TOIFA 2016 with Riteish. He is fantastic with his comic timing and I’m sure Dubai had a great time just like I did. Thank you for all the love, Dubai!”
Varun Dhawan opened the awards night with his performance on Bollywood super hits. Varun also did a special act on ‘Kar Gayi Chul’ for Sidharth Malhotra and Alia Bhatt. Jacqueline Fernandes’ glamourous act on all her most popular super hits songs such as Aa Zara and Chittiyan Kalaiyan ensured the start of a complete Bollywood entertainment.
Varun Dhawan was elated by the response he received and said, “It was my debut at TOIFA and I am absolutely stunned with the amount of love the people in Dubai have showered us with. More love and power to my fans in Dubai.”
Jacqueline Fernandes, too, excitedly expressed, “Dubai is one of my favorite cities and I’ve always loved coming here time and again. Missing the chance of entertaining my fans here was completely out of question. I would like to congratulate TOIFA for such a successful event.”
Salman Khan’s unique on-stage presence during his performance dedicated to ‘Heroes of Bollywood’ was certainly one of the highlights of the night as he also specially sang a part of ‘Main Hoon Hero Tera’ Salman Khan, after his magical performance said, “Dubai is home for me and thank you Dubai for showering Prem with a lot of ‘Prem.’ TOIFA 2016 was rocking and so was the audience!”
As expected by Ranveer Singh, he pumped up the energy levels ‘Amitabh Bachchan’ style with a special tribute to the living legend. Ranveer donned the legend’s most best looks for all his popular songs. Amitabh Bachchan thoroughly enjoyed Ranveer’s performance as he was seen smiling with amusement till the end and even joined him on stage for a quick gig on ‘Kajrare, post the performance, Anil Kapoor presented Amitabh Bachchan with the ‘Living Legend Award’ for his relentless contribution to Hindi film industry.
To add royalty to the evening, Kareena Kapoor sizzled on the dance floor with her hypnotic dance moves as a tribute to the ‘Divas of Bollywood’ while Kanika performed to some of Bollywood’s favorite songs. Kanika Kapoor, said, “ TOIFA was an amazing experience, the crowd was electric, Dubai is like second home to me, the people here have so much love for my music so it’s always good to be back”.
Shah Rukh Khan entranced the audience with his performance on Jabra Fan, Gerua and Chaiyyan Chaiyyan. Shah Rukh Khan said, “Dubai is one of my favourite cities in the world and the people here are wonderful. It was great to perform at TOIFA 2016 amongst my colleagues and a lot of people who attended and made the night a memorable one.”
Yo Yo Honey Singh’s quirky and catchy tunes on Manali Trance and Lungi Dance were a hit and had the crowd dancing on their feet. He also performed with Urvashi Rautela on Love Dose and with Jacqueline Fernandes on Yaar Na Miley.
Yo Yo Honey Singh said, “I’ve performed in Dubai many times and I love the enthusiasm that the crowd has over here. That’s the reason when TOIFA offered me to perform here again, I couldn’t say no. Loved every minute of the evening.”
The performances were brilliantly put together by the ace choreographer Shiamak Davar. Talking about the evening, Shiamak said, “Dubai has been a fantastic city! The audience response was amazing. It was great to see all the hard work of my dancers and the stars pay off! One of the finest shows I’ve seen and choreographed. TOIFA has truly raised the bar.”
