A visit to Dubai’s Global Village, the world’s leading multicultural festival park and the region’s leading family destination for culture, shopping and entertainment, just became even more tempting as Dutch cheese maker Frico officially opened its first ever store at the destination’s European Pavilion.

Open now until Global Village closes for the season on April 4, 2020, the Frico Store marks a cheese lover’s paradise, as guests can walk away with bundles of the brand’s 100% natural produce. The Frico store offers an exclusive variety of a dozen cheese types, from the soft and creamy Gouda to the mild and mellow Edam and the bold Old Dutch Master. As visitors experience the range and discover a new favourite through daily tastings, they’ll also be tempted by the delicious selection of baked goods served up to transport guests to a traditional Dutch farm from the first bite.

Sandwiches, pretzels, and melty cheesy toasties plus authentic Dutch recipes including Kaasbroodjes and Kaasstengels – all made using Frico’s broad and nutritious selection – are available to pick up and savour as guests explore the cultural entertainment and shopping destination.

“Few other foods can match the satisfaction of tucking into your preferred choice of cheese,” commented Sumeet Mathur, Managing Director at FrieslandCampina Middle East, which owns the Frico brand. “We wanted to bring that same culinary experience to more of Dubai’s residents and guests, and Global Village was the ideal opportunity to do so. Our visitors will be treated to the unmistakably authentic and natural Frico cheese taste, which originated on the open landscapes of Holland and is carried forward by our cooperative of dairy cow farmers and experienced cheesemakers.”

The Frico store’s official launch was inaugurated by the Consul General of the Kingdom of the Netherlands, H.E. Hans Sandee, and the Agricultural Counsellor for the GCC, Mr. Erik Smidt. The opening marks further maturity for the Frico brand in the UAE, and an opportunity to introduce the cheesemaker’s broad selection to a wider group of consumers, with further engagement opportunities to come.

H.E. Hans Sandee, Consul General of the Kingdom of the Netherlands, commented, “Global Village is the ideal location to open our Frico store, being a destination that celebrates diverse cultures and traditions while serving up an array of culinary treats. With a history as rich as the nation’s cheese, we look forward to showcasing Frico, one of Holland’s most treasured exports, with our Dutch community, and everyone else in Dubai.”

Serving 100 markets globally, Frico cheese is well loved for its natural ingredients free from preservatives and additives, with each slice containing only fresh milk produced by Frico’s 19,000 partner farmers in Holland.
