This week, the Luxembourg Pavilion is highlighting all the many wonderful experiences, activities and landscapes that the country has to offer tourists from across the globe. The ‘Luxembourg Tourism Days’ event, running from Monday, November 8 to Wednesday, November 10 at Expo 2020 Dubai, is designed to give visitors a unique glimpse into what makes this characterful European country such an interesting and special place to holiday, and showcase the many skills and talents of its artisans.
Offering plenty to entertain and enrapture families and friends with all kinds of interests, the exhibition will present a curated mix of Luxembourg traditions, arts and crafts, along with a collection of activations dedicated to the many incredible things that tourists can see and do in Luxembourg.
In fact, guests at the Luxembourg pavilion will be delighted to see that the innovative country has come up with a way for people to experience the magic of the Grand Duchy from wherever they are in the world. The Sky Swing is Luxembourg’s first virtual reality tourism experience, and visitors to the Pavilion will be able to check it out firsthand and feel what it’s like to fly through the air over some of the country’s most beautiful sights and attractions. The exhibition will explain how the Sky Swing is accessible to all, and that in order to ride it all you need is a swing, VR headset and a controller.
Experiences closer to the ground include the chance to try the fresh fruit products from family farm Eppeldorf. Based in the Mullerthal region, this wholesome business specialises in apple juice, honey, jams, syrups and more. Guests can also discover the pleasing notes of the Péckvillchen, a hand-crafted bird-shaped clay that is now listed as part of the UNESCO world cultural heritage, and the “Atelier de Lutherie”, a distinguished group of string instruments that is made from regional Luxembourg wood and also bears many similarities to the elegant Arabic oud.
Finally, the event provides an exciting preview of all the fantastic events and experiences that await when Esch-Alzette, Luxembourg’s second largest city, proudly becomes the European Capital of Culture in 2022. Esch2022 will feature a full programme of dance, poetry, music, design, literature, theatre and much more, and guests at Expo 2020 Dubai will come away itching to be a part of it.
