I have a canadian Driving License. When I get dubai driving license, do they keep my canadian license or give it back? I mean license department will switch my canadian license with dubai license?
Yes you can get a UAE license based on your Canadian license without taking a test and you keep your original. The term transfer or switch is a little miss leading.

you can contact Dubai Traffic about yout enquiry and i think you procedure will not take more time but you will still have the Canadian License.

No problem.Just go to the Dubai Traffic Police Headquarters in Qusais and show your passport and Canadian Licence along with a form that will have to be filled up.They will make a licence on the spot for a fee and return the Canadian licence.

is it really necessary for me to do the said procedure or is it possible for me to switch it or transfer it to Candian license since they have the same standard , a high standard one.. ive been driving in dubai for 4 yrs when i was working as a Sales Executive in Dubai. i am a holder now of a Canadian residence Visa,
