Dubai Airport Freezone Authority (DAFZA), has announced a new strategic partnership with Faraj Fund. The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) will increase collaboration between the two organisations to support one another in implementing humanitarian, communal and charitable initiatives.

The MoU was signed by Amna Lootah, Assistant Director General at DAFZA and H.E Saqer Nasser Al Nuaimi, Executive Director of Faraj Fund as well as senior officials from both parties.

As part of the agreement, DAFZA and Faraj Fund will open communication channels to exchange knowledge and information, particularly in the field of voluntary initiatives and matters of public interest. The agreement will support and promote fundraising operations and will manage the consultations and regular visits held by both parties.

Amna Lootah, commented: “DAFZA is committed to providing support to local communities in the UAE. This partnership with Faraj Fund falls in line with our corporate national responsibility initiatives and our aim to create a long-lasting, positive impact on society. Whilst we continue to work on a global level, our dedication to supporting the people of the UAE remains a top priority and we look forward to seeing the benefits of this project over years to come.”

Commenting on the partnership. H.E. Saqer Nasser Al Nuiami said: “Faraj Fund will work alongside DAFZA to carry out its mission, while also raising awareness within the organisation and promoting the values of tolerance and giving within the society. Partnering with Faraj Fund exemplifies DAFZA’s social commitment and we look forward to exchanging information and supporting each other in achieving our objectives.”

Since 2009, Faraj Fund has provided families with assistance through debt relief, support and airway ticket campaigns in a bid to aid them with difficult financial circumstances. DAFZA and Faraj Fund’s partnership follows DAFZA’s model of corporate governance, primarily based on spreading the concept of ‘corporate national responsibility’ (CNR), a more comprehensive version of the ‘corporate social responsibility’ (CSR) programme.

In line with DAFZA’s CNR initiatives, the free zone has implemented a wide range of programs including its collaboration with Al Jalila Foundation, UAE Red Crescent Authority, and several health training programs in collaboration with Metrofit Dubai gym at the free zone to promote healthy lifestyles and wellbeing. Additionally, DAFZA supports the UAE’s National Program for Happiness and Positivity through DAFZA’s Happiness Plan 2017-2021, which aims to explore employee happiness and focuses on how to improve it.
