Dubai Chamber of Commerce and Industry recently organised a series of charitable activities to celebrate Zayed Humanitarian Day 2019 and the holy month of Ramadan which involved preparing and distributing 1,000 food packets for dhow sailors working at Dubai Creek.

These activities complement other efforts led by the Chamber during Ramadan, including its support as a sponsor and host for the 23rd edition of the Dubai International Holy Quran Award. The Chamber also recently hosted a special ceremony for International Workers Day where contract workers were honoured for their efforts over the last year.

Zayed Humanitarian Day serves as a reminder to follow the example of the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, the UAE’s founding father, whose humanitarian legacy still lives on.

H.H. Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE, earlier declared 2019 as the Year of Tolerance in the UAE. The Year of Tolerance has been described as an extension of the Year of Zayed as it upholds the values of tolerance and co-existence that the Founding Father, Sheikh Zayed, established among the people of the UAE.
