Dubai Culture and Arts Authority (Dubai Culture), participated in the inauguration of the fourth edition of the Foundry exhibitions being held in Downtown Dubai from 20 September – 20 November 2021. Various art exhibitions were presented featuring distinctive works of over 10 artists from the creative community in the UAE.

The fourth edition was inaugurated by Dr Saeed Kharbash, CEO of the Arts and Literature Sector at Dubai Culture, in the presence of representatives from Emaar, participating artists, art enthusiasts in the emirate, and a number of media personnel.

On this occasion, Kharbash praised Foundry’s new edition, stressing that it represents an important opportunity to stimulate creativity in the emirate and a rich addition to the thriving cultural and creative scene in it. He affirmed the Authority’s commitment to supporting such events that align with its vision in consolidate Dubai’s leading position as a global centre for culture, an incubator for creativity, and a thriving hub for talent as well as the global capital of the creative economy.

Kharbash toured the sections of the exhibition and viewed a number of displayed works by Emirati and resident artists, including the ‘Frame of Mind’ exhibition by Emirati artist Juma Al Haj from Sharjah, who is participating in a solo exhibition presented by Iris Art Advisory, and a group show of Bangladeshi artists presented by Bangladesh Art Week.

Kharbash also viewed the ‘Into the Revolution’ exhibition from Morrow Collective, which includes digital artworks using non-fungible tokens and physical works created by a group of artists. In addition, Kharbash was given a tour of the private collection of contemporary Iranian artist Mojgan Barbe titled ‘Once Upon a time.’

Dubai Culture is working through its strategic roadmap 2020-2025 to enhance the prosperity witnessed by the emirate’s culture and arts sector as well as to improve its contribution to the gross domestic product, supported by the Authority’s role as a planner, regulator and enabler for this sector in the emirate.
