Dubai Culture and Arts Authority (Dubai Culture) continues to play its role as an enabler and tributary for creative community members in Dubai by supporting the Dubai Design Week Marketplace for creative entrepreneurs, one of the most prominent activities of the seventh edition of Dubai Design Week 2021 held under the patronage of Her Highness Sheikha Latifa bint Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Chairperson of Dubai Culture and Member of the Dubai Council, and as part of a strategic partnership with Dubai Culture.

The support includes the offer for grants for small companies working in the creative field to participate in the Dubai Design Week Marketplace, allowing them to reach wider horizons. This support, provided by the Authority for the second consecutive year, falls within the framework of its strategic roadmap to support and empower creative talents, whether citizens or residents, and attract talents from all over the world to live and work in Dubai. This contributes to achieving the objectives of the Dubai Creative Economy Strategy to make the emirate the global capital for the creative economy by 2025. It is also in line with the Authority’s vision of strengthening Dubai’s position as a global centre for culture, an incubator for creativity, and a thriving hub for talent.

In its second edition, the Dubai Design Week Marketplace offers an outdoor shopping experience as part of the activities of Dubai Design Week, the largest creative festival of its kind in the Middle East. The Marketplace will be held in Dubai Design District on 12 and 13 November, with the participation of 70+ vendors who will showcase a distinguished assortment of foods as well as products from a selection of handicrafts specialists, creators, and small businesses, including Azra, Milasna, Not (So) Guilty, Architissues, Co Chocolat, Goshopia, Exhale, RBKB and Goumbook.

In support of the Lebanese community, visitors can also explore delicious Lebanese dishes and distinctive handicrafts from artisans and makers from all over Lebanon in a dedicated section of the market. Unique and high-quality products made with sustainable and eco-friendly materials and local skills will also be displayed in this market, including fashion, jewellery, homeware, beauty, and food, among other products, in addition to a range of engaging children’s activities and interactive experiences suitable for all family members.

Dubai Culture is the strategic partner of Dubai Design Week 2021and a supporter of Downtown Design 2021, one of the week’s main events held physically for the first time after the pandemic, displaying the finest international designs on the waterfront terrace in Dubai Design District(d3) from 8 – 12 November.
