Dubai Culture Welcomes Two Cruise Ships With Cultural Activities
Dubai Culture & Arts Authority (Dubai Culture), the Emirate’s dedicated entity for culture, arts and heritage, has hosted cultural activities on the ‘Mariner of the Seas’ and ‘Celebrity Constellation’ cruise ships for more than 9,000 passengers and crewmembers at Port Rashid. The initiative aimed to enhance Dubai’s cultural influence and strengthen its soft power, both regionally and globally.
A reception was held at the Hamdan bin Mohammed Cruise Terminal at Port Rashid that featured many cultural and heritage activities, including a performance by the Al Mazyoud band, Al-Ayala and Al-Saqar folk dances, and souvenir gifts for the passengers.
Saeed Al Nabouda, Acting Director General at Dubai Culture, commented: “We appreciate our ongoing partnership with DP World, which aims to enhance Dubai’s cultural identity and encourage creative exchanges with visitors to the Emirate. We regard such events as a valuable opportunity to present our culture and traditions, and display our authentic Arab hospitality to support Dubai Culture’s vision of making Dubai a creative and sustainable global city for culture, heritage, arts and literature.”
Al Nabouda added: “Through such initiatives and activities, Dubai Culture aims to promote the national identity of Dubai in line with the Dubai 2021 Plan to enhance the happiness and comfort of people living in the Emirate by promoting a vibrant, sustainable and multi-cultural society.”
Dubai Culture aims to enhance Dubai’s cultural scene and draw attention to the Emirate’s rich heritage with a variety of initiatives that take place throughout the year. The Authority’s mandate is to build bridges of constructive dialogue between different civilisations and cultures through enriching initiatives that benefit Dubai’s citizens, residents and visitors.
