I am Canada’s permanent resident (Not Citizen), and I have a Canadian drivers license. Can I convert it into Dubai drivers license easily? Thanks in advance for your assistance. ?Â
According to the Red Tape published by Explorer, if you have Canadian driving licence you must get an affidavit from the Canadian Consulate in Dubai for varification that your DL is genuine. Also, you have to be a resident in Dubai at the time of application for the DL. (to my knowledge, your citizenship doesn’t make a difference – but check this with the Dubai Traffic Police, http://www.dubaipolice.gov.ae)

Thanks for your valueable inputs..but I m confuse…I person is saying; I do need a citizenship to done with my licence & other is saying I dont!!!(I couldnt find anything on the website though)….I guess I should wait for more inputs!!!!

A Canadian dl is acceptable to be able to get a UAE liscence WITHOUT redoing a drivers test etc. I suggest you do not drive in this country without a UAE liscence. You go to the Municipal offices and they process it right away. Mine took 30 minutes but some people have spent the morning there.It helps if you go with your company PRO.

no u have to be a canadian citizan to change the license otherwise u have to go through the normal procedure of giving the driving test.
