Dubai Economy Marks Commemoration Day
Dubai Economy markedCommemoration Day that falls on 30 November every year at its headquarters in the Business Village, in the presence of His Excellency Sami Al Qamzi, Director General of Dubai Economy and other senior officials, in line with the directives of His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE.
The Day is observed to commemorate Emirati heroes martyred while serving the country and fulfilling their national duty. The Day’s programmes began with lowering the flag and a minute of silent prayer in respect of the martyrs and their families. Al Qamzi then raised the flag with the UAE National Anthem playing.
Al Qamzi said: “We stand today in reverence and appreciation for the sons of this benevolent nation, who pledged their lives for the UAE’s prosperity and security, and enlightened us with the true meaning redemption and sacrifice. They are the torch-bearers of the gains achieved by our country under our leadership whose wisdom and directives have brought the UAE to the forefront in various fields regionally and globally.”
Al Qamzi concluded: “We will forever be inspired by the message of belonging and loyalty given by the brave martyrs. We express our deep condolences to their families and join in their pride. May God have mercy on their brave souls.”
