The Dubai Fitness Challenge has sparked a rush for healthy food deliveries – and some truly unusual location requests.

Nando’s outlets across the city are reporting a surge in orders from morning until the early hours as fitness fanatics look for a post-workout boost.

It has seen their delivery drivers head to destinations including desert boot camps, remote cycle paths and gymnasiums from Dubai Marina to the Sharjah border.

George Kunnappally, Nando’s UAE Managing Director, said: “The Dubai Fitness Challenge has been taken up by so many people and a lot of them have switched to meals which are healthy and heavy in protein.

“Nando’s is the perfect solution as our chicken is flame-grilled and with the incredible PERi-PERi spice kick, it is also full of flavour. Usually, we deliver to homes and offices but with the post-workout demand, we are going to beaches, the desert and gymnasium after gymnasium.

“At any given time, we are seeing between a 20 and 30 per cent increase in orders and it has been brilliant to be part of it all.”

Dubai Fitness Challenge 2018 runs until the end of November and there are activities running right across the city.

The mission is to turn the population into the most active in the world with a challenge of taking part in 30 workouts – all in the space of 30 days.

Nando’s has a rich history in Dubai and across the UAE as there are now a total of 22 outlets in the country, the first of which was opened 16 years ago.

They are often the choice of athletes and fitness fanatics with fans ranging from footballers to WWE wrestling superstars.
