Dubai Future Academy Organizes A Training Course On Artificial Intelligence And Good Governance
Dubai Future Academy, one of Dubai Future Foundation’s initiatives, organized a training course in partnership with University of Oxford on “Artificial Intelligence and Good Governance”. The course was co-facilitated by a group of international and local experts in the fields of modern technology, artificial intelligence, and future foresight.
The three-day training course which was co-designed with the Oxford Internet Institute aimed at shedding light on the impact of artificial intelligence on the society, particularly policy making, with the participation of over 15 government and private entities in the UAE.
Saeed Al-Gergawi, Director of Dubai Future Academy, confirmed that organizing such training courses supports Dubai Future Foundation’s efforts in exploring ways of governing advanced technologies, developing skills in all future-related sectors, and providing talents with necessary tools to keep stay ahead of rapid changes in various economic, technological and future areas.
“This course focuses on the importance of developing frameworks of modern technology governance and ways to use them efficiently by training employees and developing their skills in strategic planning, and empowering them with tools to enhance technology, big data, artificial intelligence, and others.” Al-Gergawi added.
Professor Philip Howard, Director of Oxford Internet Institute at Oxford University, highlighted the importance of developing a modern technology employment management system to enhance the ability to make decisions related to available opportunities and to understand the impact of such technologies on future generations, and said: “Artificial intelligence and machine learning contribute to making major changes in our lifestyle, and this course discusses a set of recommendations and solutions for many of the current and future challenges.”
Governance in the Age of Big Data
The training course held a set of interactive sessions which provided the participants with the opportunity to explore global scenarios and latest trends in the world of big data and how it should be governed to achieve better decisions and outcomes. The session highlighted the importance of data utilization in a proper manner towards creating better results and greater impact.
The training course also gave the participants the opportunity to learn about various methods and tools of Machine Learning and how policy makers can better benefit from data. The course shed light on the impact of technology’s adoption to help decision makers identify and solve important challenges they might face.
