Dubai has launched a new fast-track passport control service that uses face and iris-recognition technologies to enable passengers to complete airport immigration procedures in five to nine seconds.

New biometric systems deployed at 122 smart gates at arrival and departure terminals in Dubai airports allow passengers to rapidly complete passport control formalities. Pre-registration is required to avail of the service.

The AI-powered service, which enhances passengers’ travel experience, is one of several high technology projects implemented by Dubai government in recent years to enhance people’s quality of life.
