Dubai Maritime City Completes Over 25% Of Phase 1 Infrastructure For Commercial Development
Dubai Maritime City has completed more than 25 percent of Phase 1 infrastructure for its commercial development. The works are expected to be finished in the first quarter of 2021.
The AED 140 million development of the commercial area will enhance DMC’s status as a leading maritime services provider. DMC said all major and minor elements of the modern services are expected to be completed as planned, preparing the site to become a hub for maritime services bolstering Dubai’s already strong position.
Dubai Maritime City infrastructure Phase 1 works had been awarded in Q3 2019 with the target to complete the works in Q1 2021. The project aims at delivering all major and minor infrastructure to support a modern community, such as: main and secondary road networks, public parking areas for 340 units, energy-efficient street lighting, potable water and sewage networks, stormwater drainage, firefighting and irrigation networks, telecom connectivity, a pump station and maintenance of existing services.
DMC said the main contractor is fully mobilised, and all required condition assessments of existing underground services have been completed in Q4 2019. Detailed design for all services has been successfully completed and construction works has commenced.
Deep infrastructure works along Sheikh Rashid Road (adjacent to Sub-Developer plots along sea side) have been initiated and achieved 40% progress to date. Some 20% of the sewerage pipeline and 25% of the storm water drainage have been completed. DMC said the project is running on-schedule and is expected to be completed by Q1 – 2021 as planned.
The Infrastructure Phase 1 will also integrate DMC with the Mina Rashid area that includes the QE2 Hotel, Marina Fitness 72 and other commercial and residential facilities. The site is connected by a causeway to Dubai’s major road network.

The commercial precinct is a mixed use area planned to consist of retail, residential, office towers and a promenade with a mesmerising living and working environment and breathtaking sea views, all within a vibrant community.
