Downtown Dubai will see an incredible gathering of local musical talent on 8th December 2020 to support Beirut.

DXB4BEY, a one day music festival, will be live streamed from Dubai Opera on more than 50 Facebook pages including MTV Lebanon, Virgin Megastores and popular media outlets such as Lovin’ Dubai, Whats On and will be hosted by regional comedy powerhouse Wonho Chung.

Featuring some of the city’s biggest and most well-known names including Kris Fade, Layla Kardan and Danny Aridi, this initiative is aimed at raising funds for UNHCR’s efforts in Beirut. The stream will have a ‘Donate’ link where viewers can donate funds directly to support UNHCR’s aid efforts in Beirut.

DXB4BEY aims to generate 10m streams and raise AED 1m to support UNHCR’s humanitarian work in Beirut in one day. We have no doubt that residents of the UAE and people around the world will support the cause and it should definitely make for a special and significant evening.

UNHCR, The UN Refugee Agency, is a global organization dedicated to saving lives, protecting rights and building a better future for refugees, forcibly displaced communities and stateless people. Since the incident at the Beirut Port in August 2020, they have been working to provide shelter and medical assistance on the ground to those in need.

DXB4BEY, an event by Bull Funk Studios and Niki Mukhi is being held in association with the Arbor School Dubai and Dubai Opera. Donate now at https://yallagive.com/en/campaign/DXB4BEY-Live-from-Dubai-Opera-32963

Assaad Lakkis of Bull Funk Studios (artist and organiser): ’After what happened in Beirut, we had to come together to do something substantial. Since we started this event it has been incredibly moving to see how many people across Dubai have been keen to join and support the people of Beirut.

HoussamChahin, UNHCR Chief of Private Sector Partnerships in MENA,:‘It is heartwarming to see local and regional musicians, artists and audiences come together to support a cause that is close to all of our hearts. Wonho Chung, comedian and event host:‘2020 has been a difficult year for almost everyone, but for the people of Beirut, the catastrophe that took place on the 4th of August 2020, is beyond belief and words. Sometimes in our darkest hours, art and music provide a beacon of light and hope to us as people who share this earth; preserving our compassion and humanity. It is my hope that our little gesture can help the people of Beirut in any way we can, even the smallest of actions can go a long way, we are stronger when we stand untied, against anyone and anything.’

Principle Brett Girven of the Arbor School Dubai (sponsor):’We see the support for the people of Beirut as a way to affirm our commitment towards sustainability, because it impacts on our ability to survive as a community of international families, international students and humans living within this earthly household.’
