Dubai registered 508 marriage contracts in February
The number of marriage contracts registered in Dubai for the month of February of 2021 increased significantly by (13.9%) compared to the same month of last year, and by (30.9%) compared to February of 2019 according to recent data issued by “Dubai Statistics Center”, according to “Dubai Courts” data.
The total number of marriage contracts in February of 2021 reached 508 marriage contracts compared to February of 2020, during which the marriage contracts amounted to 446 contracts. “Dubai Courts” documented the registration of 328 marriage contracts for non-Emirati men with non- Emirati women, with an increase of 14.7% compared to February of last year, during which, 286 marriage contracts registered, including only 9 marriage contracts registered for non- Emirati men with Emirati women, compared to February of 2020, during which, 10 marriage contracts registered.
The total number of marriage contracts for Emirati men with non-Emirati women increased during February of 2021 and reached 65 marriage contracts, compared to February of last year, during which, 55 marriage contracts registered. As for the marriage contracts of Emirati men with Emirati women, also increased to register 106 marriage contracts, compared to February of 2020, during which, 95 marriage contracts registered.
Not surprisingly, the current crisis conditions, the precautionary measures, the prevention of gatherings and the limitation of the numbers of invitees contributed to encouraging marriage and helped to reduce the costs of the wedding parties and significantly helped to reduce the manifestations of extravagance compared to what was happened in the past before the start of the crisis.
