The sun is shining, the weather is perfect and there’s so much to see, do and enjoy during a great Dubai Shopping Festival (DSF) weekend.
Dubai’s idyllic winter season continues along with DSF’s fun-packed offerings, with amazing alfresco activities, super promotions, family entertainment and great food available alongside in-mall sales and mega deals right across the city. With so much to do this weekend, the whole family can experience the very best of Dubai and DSF – with even more fun to be enjoyed in the coming days and weeks!
Dubai Festivals and Retail Establishment (DFRE), organisers of DSF, has put together a round-up of events for a mega DSF weekend celebration ahead.
RETAIL
The 10 per cent off DSF MUSE Days promotion will run from 14 to 16 January with savings on more than 40 brands including Kenzo, Salvatore Ferragamo and Dsquared and at stores such as Level Shoes and Faces. The Chalhoub Group’s loyalty programme, shoppers can benefit from the promotion by downloading the MUSE app to their smartphone and scanning their digital MUSE card at the checkout to receive an additional 10 per cent off DSF sale prices, with great points and rewards also available the more users shop using the app
Shoppers have a final chance to visit the Dubai Mall Promenade andt The Island by Fenty Skin. Taking place until 16 January, the popup celebrates the launch of pop star Rihanna’s Fenty Skin makeup brand in Sephora stores across the GCC, The Island by Fenty Skin is packed with attractions and interactive experiences all named after products in the beauty line which include: Fenty Skin Total Cleans’rCove, Fat Water Falls and Hydra Vizor Sundeck. Guests can navigate their way around The Island by Fenty Skin by scanning specially installed signs that will direct them to different locations and features.
CONCERTS & LIVE SHOWS
Najwa Karam and Majid Al Mohandis will each perform at the Dubai World Trade Centre on 15 January. Najwa, a judge on the Arabs’ Got Talent TV show, and Majid, an acclaimed singer and composer, will put on a show full of upbeat Arabic hits. Najwa, a powerhouse singer known for her mastery of melding contemporary and traditional music, and Majid, nicknamed the ‘Engineer of Arabic song’ will show off their impressive vocals to fans during the show, which starts at 9.30pm. A big hit with Urdu and Hindi music fans, Atif Aslam will sing at Sheikh Rashid Hall at the Dubai World Trade Centre on 15 January. The Laughter Factory will bring its ‘Supersize Your Good Mood’ tour featuring comedians Ester Manito, Stephen Grant and John Fothergill to the Grand Millennium Barsha Heights Hotel on 14 January. On 15 January, the Laughter Factory will visit the Grand Millennium Business Bay Hotel. All shows start at 8.30pm, except the Grand Millennium Business Bay Hotel which will get underway at 7pm. PERFORMING ARTS
Leone Murphy, a superbly talented singer-songwriter, will perform at La Mer from 14 to 16 January with live shows at 4pm, 6pm, 8pm and 9pm over the weekend, while LED Aerialist, a completely fresh and unique aerial acrobatics show, will take to the air at City Walk at 6pm, 7pm, 8pm and 9pm from 14 to 16 January. The White Couture roaming entertainment act will wow crowds with its wonderful characters at City Centre Deira from 14 to 16 January with appearances at 5pm, 6pm, 7pm and 8pm.
LEISURE AND ENTERTAINMENT
Modesh and Dana will also make an appearance to meet fans and their families at City Centre Mirdif mall on 15 January at 4.30pm, 6pm, 8pm and 9pm. The two friends will also visit Mall of the Emirates on 16 January with appearances around the mall at 4pm and 9pm.
The Dubai Shopping Festival Market at Al Khawaneej’s super Enchanted Garden, inspired by Alice in Wonderland, continues for another fun-packed weekend of adventure, fun, food and smiles. As part of the market’s “The Enchanted Garden, where it all comes together” theme, youngsters and their families will be able to meet their favourite characters from the classic kids’ book including Alice, The Mad Hatter, The Queen of Hearts and more at the outdoor market venue, which runs until 30 January. Activities include arts and crafts sessions where children can learn how to make a variety of fun Alice in Wonderland character masks plus famous items from the story such as the White Rabbit’s pocket watch and more. Market opening times are Sunday to Wednesday, 6pm to 12am and Thursday to Saturday, 4pm to 2am.
The Dubai Shopping Festival Market at Al Seef Presented by Al Foah will host Date Week from 14 to 20 January, featuring date tasting, date-based dishes, workshops, palm tree crafts and lots of date products to eat, enjoy and explore. The venue will also stage a range of activities based around nature, including birdhouse painting and decorating, a fairy / dinosaur garden, planting and pot painting and how to make wooden photo frames and wind chimes. There will also be live Bhangra Performances from 14 to 16 January at 5pm and 9pm with members of the community invited to enjoy a vibrant show that fuses traditional Indian music and dance with modern Western styles. Market timings are weekdays from 4pm to 10pm and weekends from 2pm to 12am.
Enjoy the great outdoors at the DSF community market at Hatta Wadi Hub with a super range of family activities, food, live music and more on offer. On 16 January a Classic Car Parade will set off from Nad Al Sheba ending at Hatta Wadi Hub. Featuring 12 Mini Cooper cars and 18 other classic vehicles, prizes for the best looking automobile, as voted for by the public. The market is open from 4pm to 10pm.
Open from 6pm to 10pm, the Al Rigga Market in Deira has an eclectic range of activities on offer for families to enjoy this weekend. As part of the Al Rigga Sports Tournament the market will host CrossFit on Saturday and teams from the local community will compete in an exciting contest. The Muraqqabat Market will stage a performance of LED Tails from 14 to 16 January, with shows at 6pm, 8pm, 9pm and 10pm.
This weekend, super TikTok Booths will be in place at Mercato Mall and the Dubai Shopping Festival Market at Al Khawaneej for fans of the hugely popular app that has swept the world to show off their moves and share some giggles with friends and family. Guaranteed to raise a laugh among TikTok fans of all ages, the booths encourage users to get creative, strut their stuff and have heaps of fun.
FIREWORKS
Residents and visitors can enjoy a delicious dinner and spectacular fireworks at two of Dubai’s best loved and most picturesque waterfront destinations. Every Thursday and Friday, fireworks will light up the skies above Al Seef and La Mer while diners explore the wide range of local and international flavours on offer at the diverse selection of restaurants, cafes and eateries. Fireworks displays will be held at Al Seef at 8.30pm and La Mer at 9.30pm.
