Dubai SME And Mohammad Ali Al Hamadi Advocates Join Hands To Ensure Legal Aid To SMEs
Dubai SME, the agency of the Department of Economic Development (DED) mandated to develop the small and medium enterprise (SME) sector, has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Mohammad Ali Al Hamadi Advocates, a leading local legal firm, to facilitate SME access to knowledge and support on business laws.
The MoU was signed by Abdulaziz Al Mazami, Head of SME Support, and Mohammad Ali Al Hamadi, First Partner in Mohammad Ali Al Hamadi Advocates, in the presence of representatives from both organisations.
Commenting on the agreement, Al Mazami said: “For newly established businesses, the right legal counsel is essential to survive and grow. This can make a huge difference, especially in the establishment phase. It is our main goal to protect and nourish innovative business ideas and help turn them into reality. Mohammad Ali Al Hamadi Advocates have sizable operations and good local experience and Dubai SME is delighted to have them as our partners.”
Under the agreement, Al Hamadi Advocates will give free lectures to registered SMEs about the basic legal directions on establishing and developing a business. The agreement will also give preferential rates to Dubai SME members in handling court cases as well as in writing and reviewing contracts.
Mohammad Ali Al Hamadi commented: “Our agreement with Dubai SME will benefit all registered SMEs. In our practice, a small detail in one of the clauses in the contract can make or break a company. We will use all our experience to help SMEs avoid such pitfalls. Dubai SME has a key role in growing businesses in Dubai, and we are honoured to support them”.
