Emirates Aviation University (EAU) and Emirates Engineering will be working together to provide students the opportunity to get hands-on experience at one of the world’s largest and most advanced airline engineering facilities.

Emirates Engineering will support selected students from EAU to undertake a two-year Practical Maintenance Experience (PME) at Emirates Engineering Maintenance Section, one of the world’s largest and most sophisticated aircraft maintenance facilities. The PME programme aims to provide students who have successfully completed theoretical classroom training at EAU with actual maintenance experience.

For UAE Nationals who have obtained the full Aircraft Maintenance Engineer License from the UAE General Civil Aviation Authority, Emirates Aviation University will deliver a one year top-up Degree Programme on part-time basis, accredited by the Knowledge and Human Development Authority (KHDA) of the UAE. In addition, the university will assist in obtaining accreditation from KHDA for aircraft maintenance training programmes run by Emirates engineering, and award EAU Advanced Diplomas for UAE Nationals.

“EAU and Emirates Engineering are part of the Emirates Group, and our shared expertise in the aerospace industries and our joint ambition to advance knowledge in these fields have provided the perfect platform for this collaboration. Students who will go through the Practical Maintenance Experience will be provided with the best tools to develop their skills and capabilities,” said Dr Ahmad Al Ali, vice-chancellor of Emirates Aviation University.

“Emirates Engineering is one of the most experienced and best equipped Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul (MRO) centres in the world and offers state of the art facilities for aircraft maintenance. Through the partnership with Emirates Aviation University, we will be able to offer a high level of practical training to students who will be equipped with the skills and tools needed to be successful and competitive in the marketplace,” said Ahmed Safa, Divisional Senior Vice President Emirates Engineering. “This partnership will be able to draw the attention of young people to the thriving and rapidly growing opportunities in aircraft and aerospace engineering, especially licensed Emirati engineers who can now get advanced diplomas through EAU”.

To cement this commitment, a Momentum of Understanding (MOU) was signed at the Emirates Aviation University branch in Dubai Academic City. The MOU was signed by Dr Ahmad Al Ali and Ahmed Safa.
