Five Modern-Day Life Lessons Adults And Children Of All Ages Can Learn From The UAE Debut Of The Parisian Stage Production Of ‘LE PETIT PRINCE’
‘LE PETIT PRINCE’ has captured the hearts of children and adults of all ages around the world since he first appeared in 1943. Written by Antoine de Saint-Exupéry, the tale has inspired generations around the world.
75 years on, UAE audiences can expect to witness ‘LE PETIT PRINCE’ take on a new and completely magical role as the Parisian production of ‘LE PETIT PRINCE’ wows audiences on the iconic Dubai Opera stage for five shows between 23 and 25 January 2020. An extraordinary journey through the heart of dance and modern circus, audiences will be completely immersed in The Little Prince’s cosmic and fantastic world featuring stunning sets, costumes and video mapping technology.
Inspired by the original book of Antoine de Saint-Exupéry, the stage production travels to the UAE from Paris, representing the first time the brand new show appears outside the French capital. Featuring enchanting choreography and direction by Anne Tournié, the show will showcase advanced video mapping techniques and is adapted and co-directed by Chris Mouron, with the production set to original music by award-winning Terry Truck.
On the surface, ‘LE PETIT PRINCE’ is a simple story, but the small prince’s messages of compassion and goodwill continue to endure more than seven decades on. With five shows to choose from, here are five life lessons we can all learn from this enchanting tale.
Make the most of small pleasures.
Appreciate the simple things in life such as the “quiet pleasure of watching the sun set”.
Value friendships.
Whilst it can be “a little lonely in the desert”, The Little Prince is reminded to appreciate the friendships he has formed during his conversation with The Snake.
Protect our planet.
“It’s just a question of self-discipline” just as The Little Prince is responsible for looking after The Rose and his volcanoes, we are all responsible for looking after our planet.
Make heartfelt decisions.
“And now here is my secret, a very simple secret: It is only with the heart that one can see rightly; what is essential is invisible to the eye.”
Finally, always remember to look to the stars.
“Stars mean different things to different people. For travellers, stars tell them where they are, where they are going. For others, they are just little lights in the sky. For scholars, they are the world of the unknown, yet to be discovered and understood. And you? No one else in the world will see the stars as you do… For you, and only for you, the stars will always be laughing.”
