Dubai residents flocked to a bumper Friday at #NOFILTERDXBin Dubai Harbourtoday, with the super trendy new festival’s curated pool of ultra-luxury car accessories, watches and art proving equally alluring to visitors as the stunning array of super, classic, custom, electric and hybrid cars on display.

With art a major attraction at #NOFILTERDXB, Dusseldorf-based artist Tina Reichelis drawing interest with motoring themed paintings of carmaker logos – including Ferrari and Porsche – on twisted ‘Cocoon’ canvases painted with oils and acrylics. The artworks are displayed on stainless steel pedestals in various sizes ranging from 120 to 185 cm in height.

“Participating at #NoFilterDXBcarries special significance in my career as an artist. I’m thrilled to exhibit some of my latest artworks, which fit perfectly with the event programme. I like to connect the motifs of my art with luxurious, traditional products and brands,” said Reichel.

Alongside the numerous art displays, Jumy – a premium NFT boutique marketplace for digital art launched last February – is blurring the lines between virtual and physical art at a super chic pop-up called The Cube by Jumy.

“Run on blockchain to guarantee authenticity of all our digital creations, Jumy is a fully curated platform that offers an integrated digital art experience where you can trade NFTs, and order physical NFT frames to showcase or exhibit your piece. Mixing the virtual and physical is our value proposition,” said Anthony Monteard, CEO, Jumy.

With NFTs, or non-fungible tokens, recently being named ‘Word of the Year’ by Collins Dictionary following an 11,273% increase in search engine usage in 2021, #NoFilterDXB is providing a unique platform for Jumy to educate visitors on how any digital creation – from pictures and videos to music and even Tweets – can become NFTs, with owners claiming a digital certificate of ownership of the art work, which is registered on blockchain.

“We have developed our own digital gallery – the twin version of this physical gallery – which exists in the metaverse, a 3D virtual shared space where you can socialise and interact in the same way you would in real life, only here you are using your personal avatar. There is so much curiosity surrounding the NFT space because it is very new, it is a small community, but this is the future – and the future is already here. Dubai is the place to be for NFTs and art.”
