The General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs (GDRFA) in Dubai has organised an honouring ceremony to recognise outstanding staff members with medals and badges, including the “Expo badge” and the “Happiness badge.” The latter was awarded to all associates in acknowledgment of GDRFA securing first place in job happiness across Dubai Government during the past year 2023.

The event, held at the Dubai World Trade Centre, was attended by HE Lieutenant General Mohammed Ahmed Al Marri, Director General of the GDRFA, his deputy Major General Obaid bin Suroor, and assistant directors general.

The ceremony is in line with GDRFA’s commitment to recognising the efforts of its staff to enhance work progress and create a supportive environment for all employees, thereby enriching the workplace, fostering leadership and creativity, and promoting positive competition to achieve job satisfaction.

Congratulating all staff for their excellence, HE Lieutenant General Mohammed Ahmed Al Marri emphasised that GDRFA is committed to celebrating the efforts of its employees. “This stems from our firm belief in the importance of appreciation, not only to boost morale but also to energise staff, enhance their skills, and align their capabilities with the demands of their roles, further solidifying GDRFA’s status as a leader in government services.”

For his part, Major General Awad Al Oweim, Assistant Director General for the Human and Financial Resources Sector, affirmed that this distinguished group merits recognition for their sustained contributions that foster creativity in the workplace.

He highlighted their role in passing on their knowledge to peers, who are then inspired to refine these practices, thereby delivering exceptional, innovative, and distinguished services to customers.
