Dubai’s International Humanitarian City (IHC) is participating for the first time in the Dubai Government Achievements’ Exhibition, held from 8 to 10 of April at the Dubai World Trade Centre. The exhibition reflects the vision and directives of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, and is organized by the Dubai Executive Council and the Dubai Government Excellence Programme (DGEP), in coordination with the Ministry of Economy. This unique initiative brings together the Dubai Government departments and institutions under one roof to showcase their most significant achievements, programs, services and projects.

Highlighting its role as a global humanitarian and logistics hub and a promoter of partnerships between different governmental and private sectors, the IHC exhibit showed the growing role and long term investment of the Dubai Government within humanitarian aid and action. Founded by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai and chaired by Her Royal Highness Princess Haya Bint Al Hussein, wife of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the IHC puts Dubai’s expertise in transport and logistics to use for the humanitarian aid and development operations of the UN agencies, international NGOs as well as commercial companies licensed by the IHC and serving the humanitarian sector.

This year, the exhibition which coincides with the Annual Investment Meeting 2014 is held under the theme ‘Local Government and Global Achievements,’ and focuses on promoting the UAE Vision 2021, which aims to place the UAE among the best countries in the world in terms of sustainability, economy and a cohesive society. IHC is showcasing the impact of its member organizations’ operation in which they have managed to effectively reach the victims of some of the worst crises over the past decade to support similar goals.
