Tolerance is one of the founding principles of the United Arab Emirates, and a moral value deeply entrenched in our Emirati tradition and heritage. Since its inception, the UAE has opened its arms to expatriates from every corner of the globe; our customs and our laws guarantee everyone – from any nationality, race, religion, or background – a decent and comfortable life, free from discrimination of any kind. Tolerance has been the hallmark of our journey thus far and will continue to be a guiding principle for us as we move forward with building a world-leading smart city that attracts residents from all around the world.

The International Day for Tolerance is an annual occasion for us to reaffirm our commitment to this open, progressive, and above all humanitarian approach. It is an opportunity to take account of the benefits such policies – instituted by our Founding Fathers and spearheaded, to this day, by our forward-thinking leadership – have brought for our country and all citizens and expatriates residing in it.
