Israel Pavilion Announces Its November Thematic Activations
EXPO2020 is not only a destination for technology and innovation, but a destination for inclusivity and tolerance as well. November features the thematic weeks of “urban & rural development” plus “tolerance & inclusivity.” The Israeli pavilion will continue with its business and cultural thematic events which complement the EXPO2020 calendar while announcing its culture calendar which is unique to Israel’s agenda.
During the first week of November, Keren Kayemeth LeIsrael – Jewish National Fund (KKL-JNF) and the Israeli Ministry of Construction and Housing will join forces for Expo’s Urban & Rural Development Week, with a joint side event on Sustainable Regional Planning: Balancing Development and the Environment. The Ministry and KKL-JNF will discuss sustainable regional development. The event is scheduled to take place over two days, Wednesday, 3rd of November and Thursday, 4th of November, 2021. During the week of Tolerance and Inclusivity which takes place from 14-20 November 2021, The Israeli pavilion will hold an event on Monday, 15th of November, with the Bureau for World Jewish Affairs and World Religions of the Israeli Ministry of Foreign Affairs on The Role of Religious Leaders in Tolerance Education. The event will discuss various aspects of tolerance education and dialogue between people and religions as tools to create bridges and to fight extremism and prejudice, as well as racism, antisemitism and islamophobia. The event will feature an interfaith delegation of religious leaders from Israel representing the three monotheistic religions, as well as representatives of other minority religious groups.
On Tuesday, 16th of November, Israel’s National Cyber Security Authority will host a multinational Aviation Cyber Simulation event. In this table-top simulation event, leading executives from aviation organisations will collaborate on how to cope with a cyber crisis which will erupt in the aviation sector of “Cyberia” – a fantasy country, as a simulation. Participants will discuss the best course of action, communicate with other stakeholders and hopefully lead the situation to a safe and fast resolution.
On the cultural side of the month the Israeli Pavilion will hold a DJ Party every Thursday night at 8pm. November will also see performances from the Gil Ron Shema Ensemble known for combining original and traditional Arabic and Hebrew music on the 23rd and 24th of November and Anna RF, the electronic ethnic reggae band on the 28th and 29th of November, 2021.
