Majid Al Futtaim,  the leading shopping mall, communities, retail and leisure pioneer across the Middle East, Africa, and Asia,  gave members of the public their first view of the city’s newest outdoor community events venue – the activation hub at Tilal Al Ghaf – for the Dubai premiere of ‘Aquaman’.

Featuring landscaped parkland overlooking Lagoon Al Ghaf, the activation hub will host a calendar of social, cultural and entertainment events, commencing this winter. For the venue’s very first activation, Majid Al Futtaim Communities teamed up with Warner Bros. for an outdoor screening of the newest superhero blockbuster from the DC Extended Universe.

The premiere took place on Tuesday, 11 December, with the film in cinemas across the UAE from 13 December.

“This is a wonderful way to bring the public to Tilal Al Ghaf for the first time, as we prepare to open The Park, Show Village and the first stage of Lagoon Al Ghaf next year,” said Hawazen Esber, CEO of Majid Al Futtaim Communities.

“The activation hub is landscaped to offer an ideal venue for outdoor entertainment, as part of a neighbourhood that will bring to life the promise of resort-style living that is at the heart of Tilal Al Ghaf.”

When open, the activation hub will host regular events alongside the Show Village featuring six luxury villas, a bungalow and townhouses, as well as a Tilal Al Ghaf Sales & Experience Centre. Display homes will showcase the contemporary design, smart technology and sustainability features – such as rooftop solar power and built-in water filters to provide drinking water straight from the tap – being offered to future residents.

At the edge of the activation hub, the first section of beach stretches 120 metres along the shore of Lagoon Al Ghaf. In its first stage, around 15,000 square metres of this landmark recreational lagoon is filled with water, out of an eventual 70,000 square metres when complete.

Spanning three million square metres at the intersection of Hessa Street and Sheikh Zayed Bin Hamdan Al Nahyan Street, Tilal Al Ghaf is a phased project that will include more than 6,500 freehold homes, ranging from apartments, townhouses and bungalows, through to luxury villas.

The public can explore plans for Tilal Al Ghaf in more detail by visiting the Majid Al Futtaim Sales & Experience Centre at Kempinski Hotel Mall of the Emirates.
