City Walk, the design-inspired open-air lifestyle destination by Meraas, invites visitors to ‘live the food’ in all its forms and celebrate the eclectic gastronomic experience the destination has to offer with its ‘Meet the Chefs, Live the Food’ event.

Running till 9 March as part of the sixth annual Dubai Food Festival (DFF) 2019, this year’s foodie celebration features incredible dining offerings and a packed calendar of culinary activities, ranging from live street cooking demonstrations to chef cook-offs. Food-themed live entertainment act s will roam City Walk till 8 March from 7pm to 11pm.

The destination offers visitors the opportunity to choose from almost 20 cuisines and explore unique dining deals from City Walk’s restaurants exclusively for the period of DFF.Hidden gems includeEshak, the Uzbek and Middle-Eastern fusion restaurant, that serves a set menu priced at AED88 per person, accompanying an assorted mezze platter and a choice of mixed grill or pilaf.

Pomme De Pain, recreating the perfect Parisian café culture dishing up fresh and wholesome food offers 20% on the final bill and Amorino is offering visitors craving authentic Italian gelato 20% discount on minimum of 1L takeaway of gelato. Additionally, Salad Boutique, unique bistro specializing in serving salads as a main course in all flavors and textures, is offering visitors 25% discount on the kids’ menu, salads and desserts.

 ‘Meet the Chefs, Live the Food’

Chef cook-offs

On 1 and 2 March, City Walk hosted the first two rounds of the exciting cook-off competition at its mobile kitchens, set up near Vao Concept Store. Over the two days, participating chefs from Gürkan Şef SteakHouse, Al Mashowa, Galeries Lafayette Le Gourmet, SIKKA Café, Café Bazza, Galvin Bistrot, LIMA and Butcha Steakhouse & Grill showed off their culinary creations to secure a spot in the last round.

During the final cook-off session, visitors can witness chefs from Al Mashowa, SIKKA Café, Galvin Bistrot and Butcha Steakhouse & Grill battle it out on Friday, 8 March, from 7pm to 10pm and learn the latest artistic culinary skills.

Live cooking demonstrations     

Running till 7 March between 6pm and 9pm, chefs from select restaurants at City Walk are hosting live interactive cooking demonstrations, offering tastings from their menus and promoting their DFF deals.
