His Excellency Dr. Abdulrahman Al Awar, Minister of Human Resources and Emiratisation (MoHRE), met with His Excellency Pham Minh Chinh, Prime Minister of Vietnam, and his accompanying delegation in Dubai.

The two sides discussed issues of common interest pertaining to the labour market, as well as opportunities to strengthen bilateral collaboration between the two countries in the field of training and developing human resources, especially the skills and competencies required in the UAE’s competitive job market. Both sides emphasised their commitment to developing relations, particularly in labour and worker-related areas to ensure mutual benefits from increasing the contribution of Vietnamese workers in the UAE job market, which is known for talent attraction and its competitiveness.

The meeting has also explored a set of recently approved systems and legislations in the UAE that provide legal coverage and social protection for all workers in the country. This includes the recent adoption of the voluntary alternative end-of-service savings scheme, known as the ‘Savings Scheme’, which allows participants to benefit from investment returns on their savings to ensure financial sustainability. Also on the list is the Unemployment Insurance Scheme, which registered more than 6.7 million participants in less than a year since its launch in January 2023, and the Worker Protection Programme, among other innovative schemes that allow the UAE labour market to stand out, while ensuring stability and wellbeing for workers, protecting their rights on equal footing with their employers.

The meeting was attended by His Excellency Dao Ngoc Dung, Minister of Labour, Invalids, and Social Affairs of Vietnam, and His Excellency Nguyen Manh Tuan, Vietnamese Ambassador to the UAE, along with His Excellency Khalil Ibrahim Al Khoori, Undersecretary for Human Resources Affairs of the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation, and Her Excellency Shayma Al Awadhi, MoHRE’s Assistant Undersecretary for Communication and International Relations.
