MoHRE Launches ‘UAE Labour Market Observatory’ To Boost Competitiveness Of Labour Market
The Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation (MoHRE) has launched the UAE Labour Market Observatory, designed to provide periodic data and information in both Arabic and English on various competitiveness indicators of the UAE labour market, outputs of the policies set to regulate it, and information about innovative services, programmes, and initiatives, along with other subjects relevant to the labour market.
Her Excellency Shayma Al Awadhi, MoHRE’s Assistant Undersecretary for Communication and International Relations said: “The UAE Labour Market Observatory was launched in line with the Ministry’s commitment to transparency with customers; it allows for easy access to data and information about the realities of the UAE labour market, and is continuously updated to support research, enable benchmarking and comparison, and track the growth achieved in various sectors and fields.”
“The Observatory supports the Ministry’s strategic direction to strengthen electronic and digital services, promote the sharing of statistical data, and offer a reliable source of labour market data and information to media outlets, international organisations, and other stakeholders with a vested interest in labour markets, which can be referred to and consulted in decision-making,” she added.
“It serves as a compass allowing all entities, investors, employers, and any interested party to understand the realities of the labour market and the developments that are shaping it.”
For his part, His Excellency Ayyoub Al Marzouqi, Acting Assistant Undersecretary for Policy and Strategic Affairs at MoHRE, said: “The UAE Labour Market Observatory contains information and data related to various groups of stakeholders about the UAE labour market, as per global competitiveness indicators focusing on labour, companies, and workers. It also offers insight into the Ministry’s notable initiatives and the innovative programmes it offers, which allow the UAE labour market to stand out as a leader on the regional and international levels, in addition to data regarding various aspects of the labour market.”
“The website was designed with a modern, clear, and attractive interface to facilitate navigation and browsing, offering quick and direct access to regularly updated information and data, and serving as a key reference that presents outcomes of all of the Ministry’s research projects and studies,” he added.
“This is the first edition of the Labour Market Observatory, and it will be continuously updated with additional and detailed data in the future, according to stakeholders’ needs, and in line with the UAE’s data sharing policies.”
The Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation is organising a workshop this week to introduce the Labour Market Observatory, which will be attended by various partners and media members. The workshop will allow attendees to share their observations, proposals for development, and their needs in terms of statistical data, in an effort to maximise their benefit from the platform.
The Observatory can be accessed through the MoHRE official website, under the ‘Labour Market Observatory’ banner, or directly at https://www.mohre.gov.ae/labour-reports/index.html. The Ministry invites all customers, partners, and anyone who may be interested to contact its team and send their comments for improvement to media@mohre.gov.ae.
