Naila Kiani, the fearless mountaineer based in Dubai, has yet again achieved an incredible milestone that will be etched in mountaineering history. Known for her unyielding determination and indomitable spirit, Naila has successfully reached the summit of Manaslu this morning at 6.15am (UAE time), the eighth-highest mountain in the world. This remarkable accomplishment marks her ninth successful ascent of an 8,000-meter peak, solidifying her position as the first mountaineer based in the UAE to achieve this extraordinary accomplishment. Naila started mountaineering 2 years ago.

Naila set off for her final summit push at 6pm yesterday and climbed throughout the whole night for 12 hours and reached the peak this morning. She will now spend much of the day looking for a safe descent whilst sleep-deprived.

Manaslu, towering at a height of 8,163 meters (26,781 feet) above sea level, presents formidable challenges to even the most seasoned mountaineers. Its volatile weather conditions, perilous terrain, and avalanche-prone slopes require unmatched courage and expertise. Naila Kiani, however, has once again demonstrated her resilience, courage and unparalleled mountaineering skills.

Naila’s journey to the summit of Manaslu is a testament to her unrelenting pursuit of excellence and commitment to pushing the boundaries of human achievement. She is sponsored by the Bard Foundation.

Beyond her mountaineering achievements, Naila Kiani is a fervent advocate for gender equality and empowerment. She utilises her platform to break down barriers for women in traditionally male-dominated fields, making a difference in the lives of many. Through motivational speaking engagements and various initiatives, Naila encourages individuals, particularly women, to dream big, set audacious goals, and fearlessly chase their passions.

As Naila Kiani continues to make history, the world anticipates her next grand adventure. She has her sights set on conquering all 14 of the world’s 8,000-meter peaks, an audacious mission that few dare to undertake. In the coming weeks, Naila plans to tackle the two Chinese 8,000-meter peaks, Cho Oyu and Kanchenjunga, reflecting her relentless pursuit of excellence and commitment to breaking barriers.

To achieve the final three peaks of her mission starting in April 2024, Naila Kiani is actively seeking sponsorship support. Her dedication to her mission is an inspiration to mountaineers and enthusiasts worldwide, and this next phase of her journey promises to be nothing short of extraordinary.

Naila Kiani’s triumphant ascent of Manaslu is a historic moment not only for her but also for the entire residential community in the UAE. Her achievements serve as a wellspring of pride and inspiration for the nation, reinforcing the UAE’s global reputation as a centre for excellence, determination, and accomplishment.
