Nat Bowen, British Abstract Artist Based In Dubai, Debuts Her First Solo Show ‘The Queen Of Colour’ At ME Dubai As Its Latest Artist In Residence
ME Dubai continues its long-standing commitment to supporting the arts and creating memorable and immersive experiences for guests by welcoming British abstract artist Nat Bowen as the newest Artist in Residence from 23rd February till 31st March.Presented by Gone Rogue, Nat Bowen will host her first exclusive solo show ‘The Queen of Colour’in the UAE at the hotel that will reflect and compliment the fluidity of the interior space of ME Dubai designed by The Queen of the Curve late Dame Zaha Hadid. She will take over the ME Dubai with her colourful artworks across different levels including an Instagrammable wall of FragmentsÒand showcase she will unveil her latest artwork ‘Artura Aura’ in collaboration with McLaren, which shows the McLaren Arturahigh-performance hybrid supercar featuring her artwork.
This creative collaboration will also turn ME Dubai’s Atrium by Zaha Hadid into an immersive and unique catwalk for theMiddle East’s first ‘Artwalk’showcasing Nat Bowen’s new FragmentsÒ artwork collection.Sure to excite every art lover, Nat will also grace ME Dubai’s architecturally inspiring venue with a live artistic painting performance in the Atrium, that will immerse the guests into a creative expression of their own.Accompanied by beats from ME Dubai’s resident DJ that will resonate with Nat Bowen’s illuminated artwork, guests will participate in deep conversations and discuss their growing love for art while being able to sample a creatively crafted beverage inspired by Nat’s art and made specially to honour the occasion.To culminate her debut solo show in the UAE, Nat will unveil her largest artwork to date – a freestanding artwork the ‘Chromalith’ in the centre of The Atrium.
Known globally for her vibrant, multi-layered resin paintings, which are based around Chromology, the psychology behind colour, her work has become coveted by some of the world’s most affluent art collectors and celebrities. The pigments within the lustrous resin adapt according to the light, reflecting and absorbing the surroundings with the work becoming a part of the space it inhabits.Nat uses colour as a way to communicate nonverbally using it as a universal language and encourages the viewer to adopt a mindful state and observe their physical and emotional response to the artwork. Natincorporates rare and precious pigments and materials in her work and is well known for her diamond artworks, ‘Black Diamond’ and ‘Pink Diamond’, each including 1000 carats of genuine crushed diamonds suspended in resin.
Nat comes from a family of creatives; she was exposed to design processes, materials, and media from an early age, and her exploration continued throughout her education.She created fashion collection artworks as prints while studying at the London College of Fashion, and after graduation she became a fashion designer before signing with a modeling agency in London and beginning her career as a model.Nat has since incorporated her knowledge and experience into her work to develop herself as a visual artist.
Guests visiting ME Dubai’s Atrium by Zaha Hadid will be able to see firsthand Nat’s amazing artistic abilities during her residency via a specially created pop-up concept store located at the ‘heart’ of ME Dubai’s Atrium that will exhibit fashion items and objects. Completing the display will be the ground-breaking McLaren Artura featuring a bespoke artwork, designed by Nat Bowen. The car’s fitting name represents the art of design and future technology. All-new from the ground-up, the McLaren Artura marks the beginning of the next chapter for the pioneering British company and a new era in the world of supercar technology and performance.

I am thrilled to be bursting onto the Dubai art scene with a big splash of colour with my grandest solo show to date at ME Dubai and to reveal my collaboration with McLaren which sees the Artura showcased on another level. The ME Dubai champions artistic talent and the importance of female representation which resonates with me so the hotel, with its stunning architectural and interior design by Zaha Hadid, is the perfect venue for my first solo exhibition in the UAE curated by Gone Rogue founder, Kim Shaylor.”
