Picture Perfect: Nakheel Selects Winning Photos And Videos Of Through The Lens Competition
They came, they saw, they captured. Nakheel announces the winners of Through the Lens, a photography and videography competition in association with Nikon. Hundreds of amateurs and professionals displayed extraordinary talent and let their creativity shine through the lens in stunning photographs and videos shot at Nakheel’s communities, shopping malls and beachfront venues.
Experimenting with varied techniques, levels of exposure and textures, participants produced never-before-seen photos and videos of Palm Jumeirah, Jumeirah Islands, Jumeirah Park, Nakheel Mall and other Nakheel destinations.
A panel of industry experts judged the best photos and videos. The winning photo by Uwe Wulf Richter showcased The Palm Tower, Nakheel’s iconic tower in the heart of Palm Jumeirah in black and white, focusing on lighting, texture, shadow, patterns and composition, enhancing the spectacular nature of the tower.
Uwe takes home a grand prize of AED 20,000 while other winners take home prizes of AED 15,000, AED 10,000 and AED 5,000.
A Nakheel spokesperson said, “Nakheel is delighted to support art and culture through events, collaborations and competitions such as Through the Lens, and what is particularly exciting is that these initiatives allow residents to explore our communities and present them from a different artistic perspective. Through the Lens builds on other artistic and cultural offerings such as the recent K-Art Exhibit at Nakheel Mall and The Palm Fountain, the world’s largest fountain which holds daily shows to the tunes of local and international artists. Congratulations to all the winners and we will continue provide more platforms for artistic expression.”
Winners were recognised and celebrated at an intimate ceremony held at one of Nakheel’s flagship developments, Nakheel Mall on Palm Jumeirah.
