This Ramadan in Dubai, the city is supercharging residents and visitors with an exciting line-up of fitness and wellness events, highlighting the city’s commitment to an active and balanced lifestyle. Organised by Brand Dubai, the creative arm of the Government of Dubai Media Office (GDMO), in collaboration with Dubai Festivals and Retail Establishment (DFRE) and key public and private sector partners, this year’s sports calendar offers a wide range of events for athletes, fitness enthusiasts, and families alike.

From competitive tournaments and endurance races to community wellness activities, DFRE has planned a packed programme of events that encourage both residents and visitors to stay active and embrace wellbeing, all while fostering a sense of unity.

RAMADAN RUN

The Ramadan Run invites participants of all fitness levels and abilities for an energising night race on 23 March at Quranic Park, with options to choose from 3km, 6km, and 9km routes. The community fun run offers something for everyone, whether they are seasoned athletes or simply looking to stay active and healthy with friends and family. Registration is now open on the event website.

HATTA RAMADAN SPORTS TOURNAMENT

For friends and families looking to explore outdoor, wellness, and nature experiences, the Hatta Ramadan Sports Tournament is underway at Hatta Sports Club for the first 20 days of Ramadan. Athletes have an unmissable opportunity to compete in nine thrilling sports. From five-a-side football and volleyball to beach volleyball, badminton, running, weightlifting, and even tug of war, participants can showcase their talents in a fun and energetic environment.

NAS SPORTS TOURNAMENT

The NAS Sports Tournament, organised by Dubai Sports Council at the Nad Al Sheba Sports Complex, is the largest of its kind and a standout event on Ramadan’s sports calendar. Running until 19 March, it features exciting matches like the Padel Championships and Wheelchair Basketball. Plus, the Nad Al Sheba Cycling Championship on 15 and 16 March brings cyclists the chance to race through the stunning streets of Meydan and Mohammed Bin Rashid City. With free registration, these high-energy events are open to everyone looking to be part of the action.

DUBAI RACING CARNIVAL

The Dubai Racing Carnival features a thrilling race on 14 March at Meydan Racecourse, for a chance to witness top international trainers, jockeys, and horses in action. This event marks an important milestone on the road to the prestigious Dubai World Cup, offering racing enthusiasts an exhilarating experience ahead of the grand finale on 5 April.

GRIT+TONIC TRIATHLON

The GRIT+TONIC Triathlon on 16 March at Al Mamzar Beach Park is set to be an action-packed event for all ages and skill levels. From the Junior Super Sprint to the challenging Olympic Triathlon, participants can race through calm waters, closed roads, and a dedicated running track. The event promises a supportive and exciting race day for everyone, whether seasoned athletes or first-timers.

KING & QUEEN SWIM

The King & Queen Swim invites swimmers of all ages and abilities to dive into the Arabian Gulf at Dubai Islands on 16 March. With multi-distance races ranging from 200m to 2 miles, participants have the chance to compete for the prestigious title of King or Queen of the islands. The event encourages a passion for open-water swimming, creating a fun yet competitive atmosphere for all.

DUBAI BASKETBALL VS PARTIZAN MOZZART BET

Basketball fans can look forward to an electrifying match as Dubai Basketball takes on European powerhouse Partizan Mozzart Bet at Coca-Cola Arena on 17 March. The game promises fast-paced action as both teams go head-to-head in a high-stakes ABA League face-off, offering an unforgettable experience for basketball enthusiasts of all ages.

SKECHERS INFLATABLE OBSTACLE RACE 2

The SKECHERS Inflatable Obstacle Race 2 returns to Expo City Dubai on 22 March, offering a fun and challenging experience for participants of all fitness levels. Runners can choose between a 2.5km or 5km course featuring 11 unique obstacles, including the towering nine-meter-high ‘Burj Surj’ challenge. Set against the backdrop of Expo City’s futuristic landscapes, this event blends running with dynamic obstacles for a truly engaging race day.

AHPC LEAGUE

The AHPC League at Al Habtoor Polo Resort and Club brings high-stakes polo action from 22 to 29 March. Featuring a 4-6 goal handicap, this five-day tournament welcomes aspiring players and experienced teams from across the region to compete on the vibrant polo fields. A favourite among Dubai’s equestrian enthusiasts, the event offers the perfect opportunity to enjoy thrilling matches while soaking in the elegant atmosphere of the polo club.
