RCA to start media campaign to help flood victims in Pakistan
Abu Dhabi, Aug 24th, 2010Â — On directives from President H.H Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the Red Crescent Authority (RCA) will launch tomorrow a nationwide campaign to raise funds to help flood victims in Pakistan.
Television and radio channels in the country will participate in the three-day campaign aimed to attract donations to provide relief aid for the flood victims estimated to be over 23 million.
TV channels such as Al-Imarat, Noor Dubai, Sharjah2, Ajman, Dunia al-Fujairah, Ras Al Khaimah and Al Waha will join the massive campaign.
A meeting held today at the National Media Council was attended by the directors of television channels, who discussed a unified mechanism for conducting the campaign, Donations will be received at various branches of the RCA, a number of shopping centres as well as through messages sent from mobile phones and pledges registered via the call centre.
