Riff Cohen To Perform At The Israel Pavilion
As part of its cultural calendar, and in light of the Israeli pavilion’s message on diversity and inclusion, the pavilion is proud to host two performances by the iconic Riff Cohen on Tuesday,23rd November and Wednesday, 24th November at 8:30pm, on the dunes of the pavilion.
Riff Cohen creates an original sound which became a new genre in contemporary music. She brings a powerful energy that mixes West African and French influences. The North African rhythms create a joyful and deep foundation, while the tune reminds the listener of ancient Arabic chants mixed into a modern world.
Cohen said: “I’m excited because this is the first time I’m coming to Dubai. My goal is to spread a united message of East meets West, from my own point of view, that invites the general public to open their minds to a cultural melting pot.At the show I will sing original songs that I wrote and composed along with words that were written by my mother. The performance will be accompanied by three musicians and the songs will be sung in three languages; French, Hebrew and Arabic.Come with an open mind to a musical journey that connects the old world to the new. Enjoyment is guaranteed! ”
Josh Bendit, Director of the Israel Pavilion at Expo 2020 Dubai added: “Music, as an international language, it overcomes language barriers and brings hearts and senses together. Israel’s music beats to the rhythm of unity between different cultures that come together from all over the world.”
The Israel Pavilion is situated in the Opportunity District and was designed to represent an open tent, inviting everyone in. It will feature a wide variety of cultural activities, including numerous Israeli artists performing at the expo and an Israeli style party every Thursday night featuring DJs from the UAE and Israel.
