GITEX Shopper 2018, the region’s favourite and longest-running consumer electronic bonanza, officially opens at Dubai World Trade Centre (DWTC) today (Tuesday 2nd October), with a host of new or revamped features set to lure in more than 100,000 gadget-seekers and consumer technology visitors over five days.

Running in Za-abeel Halls 4-6 until Saturday 6 October, GITEX Shopper 2018 returns with the region’s best electronics deals and promotions, as well as a new Experience Zone featuring four core dedicated areas where visitors can get hands-on experiences, sign up for free tips and tricks sessions, test pilot drones and wage in esports battle at the all-new Shopper Games.

“GITEX Shopper provides consumers from across the region with the very best deals on electronics available on the market, all under one roof,” said Trixie LohMirmand, Senior Vice-President, Dubai World Trade Centre (DWTC), organiser of the event. “To further enhance the visitor experience, we have introduced the all-new Xperience Zone, a curated centre for testing, learning and expert demonstrations that aid consumers in the complex purchasing process.”

Regional electronics retails including Emax, Jacky’s, Jumbo, SharafDG, Axiom, Arabian Trading Agency, Al Ain Phone, KY Style Home, Naam Electronics FZE, Nishat General Company LLC, Time House Trading LLC. and Yuet Meng Trading Co Pte Ltd, as well as brands such as Huawei (Official Technology Partner), Honor, MSI, Xtouch, and Nestle will all showcase their promotional bundles and offers during the show.

“GITEX Shopper is an event that brings the entire electronics retail industry together and it has been a pleasure to showcase our entire range and directly interact with consumers from all over UAE, who come in in huge numbers,” said Mahesh Chotrani, Assistant Vice President, Jacky’s Electronics. “We have been with GITEX shopper for over 20 years now and each year we wait with bated breath for the show as it helps us with sales volumes, driving profits.”

NAAM’s Denzil D’Souza added that they were looking forward to welcoming visitors to GITEX Shopper following a number of new launches and changes in recent months: “As a group, we are diversifying into retail outlets rather than the pure distribution model, we have opened four stores this year so far, with many more to open in two years. Gitex is a platform to reach out to our customers with promising offers and quality buying experience.”

As well as the latest smartphones, tablets, laptops, smart TVs, wearable technology and cameras, retailers at GITEX Shopper 2018 are homing in on the gaming sector with a slew of recently launched games, consoles and accessories at the best available prices available in the market. There are also numerous opportunities for visitors to win big prizes during the five-day event. Prizes available include an MG ZS Compact SUV, 50x AED1,000 Dell vouchers, Nikon Cameras, and a daily holiday package to Tbilisi in Georgia, Baku in Azerbaijan, Yerevan in Armenia, Goa in India, and Herzegovina in Bosnia.
