“Scotland has a well-connected technology infrastructure, academic excellence in healthtech and a globally competitive life sciences sector.
“New technologies and data intelligence are playing an increasingly important role in Scotland’s healthcare system and are central to our refreshed Digital Health and Care strategy. We are keen to collaborate with our most important international partners – including the UAE and the wider Middle East – and welcome inward investors to our life sciences ecosystem for the benefit of the Scottish population and as a launch pad for international markets.”
The refreshed Scottish Digital Health and Care strategy outlines how Scotland will use technology and data to deliver health and care. The strategy builds on the successes that an increased emphasis on digital during the pandemic has brought about, such as increased digital capability in care homes, additional remote monitoring and self-management of conditions from home. It recognises that digital technologies can empower people by helping to ensure that care is delivered in a way, place and time that meets individual needs.
