Dubai Startup Hub, an initiative of Dubai Chamber of Commerce and Industry, has announced the conclusion of the second cohort of Scaleup Dubai, an extension of Market Access programme, providing high-growth startups with in-depth knowledge, guidance and tailored support needed to help them take their businesses to the next level.

Joining the second cohort of the programme are:,WideBot, B24 Chat, Quickwork Technologies, In-D (Intain AI), Alcodex, NEARMOTION, Gokaddal and NLSQL. The participants specialise in a wide range of fields and technologies, including healthtech, artificial intelligence, Internet of things, blockchain technology, digital mapping and digital transformation.

During a three-month intensive program, the programme participants learned about the Dubai market and the process of setting up a company in the emirate, while they joined interactive sessions, which provided a platform for them to pose their questions directly to industry experts.

Participants had the opportunity to discover business opportunities in Israel, Central and South America and seek support from Dubai Chamber international offices during the period of the program. During a Business Matchmaking session, startups connected with corporate and government entities, including DP World, Al Rawabi, Dubai Municipality, Mohamed Bin Rashid Library, DMCC and explored potential business opportunities. Committed startups received a stamp from Dubai Startup Hub to mark their graduation from the programme.

“The Scaleup Dubai program came as a response to COVID-19 last year, when Dubai Startup Hub decided to provide further business opportunities exclusively to its program alumni’s especially B2B startups tailored to their specific needs,” said Mr. AtiqJumaNasib, Senior Vice President of Commercial Services, Dubai Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

Following the success of the pilot phase of the programme launched in 2020, Dubai Startup Hub extended the Scaleup Dubai programme as Dubai witnessed an uptick in business activity among technology startups. Around 75% of Scaleup Dubai participants are international startups, reflecting growing interest in Dubai a global innovation and startup hub, he added.

Established by Dubai Chamber in 2016, Dubai Startup Hub is the first initiative of its kind in the Middle East and North Africa region. The initiative is designed to emphasise the value of public and private sector collaboration and embodies the aim of encouraging innovation and entrepreneurship as a main driver of the economy of Dubai and the UAE.
