Securing advanced-level certification in Compliance Management Maturity Assessment
Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has attained an advanced certification in Compliance Management Maturity Assessment, a prestigious global practice that reflects RTA’s pioneering. RTA’s compliance management practices were assessed and benchmarked against both local and international standards. Such an achievement improves governance practices, steps up maturity levels, and ensures continual improvement in this regard.
Shaikha Ahmed Aljarman, Executive Director of Internal Audit, RTA, said: “RTA’s compliance practices were assessed across seven key areas: policies, procedures, and processes established to achieve RTA’s objectives; senior oversight on applicable procedures; continued employee training adaptable to requirements; effective communication, implementation, and enforcement; along with audit, response, and prevention strategies to ensure compliance.”
“This assessment underscores RTA’s standing in compliance management and corporate governance at both regional and global levels, mobilising all resources to build an integrated and unique structure of compliance management. The maturity measurement serves as an indicator of an effective compliance system and facilitates the enhancement of the regulatory environment,” She noted.
This advanced certification marks a unique achievement added to RTA’s impressive record. RTA was the local and global pioneer in adopting the ISO 37303 standard relating to compliance management. It also implemented a uniquely designed electronic system that has assisted compliance management capabilities and achieved the highest compliance levels.
