The third edition of the Musivv awards will take place on March 8, 2023 at the Theatre of Digital Arts (TODA) located in the bustling Souk Madinat Jumeirah. This event which has honoured over 50 independent musical artists and creatives since its inception in 2019, will be marked by a first-of-its-kind celebration, featuring a live awarding ceremony. The event will include performances by Emirati, regional and international singers.

The founder of Musivv, Marcusch Dela Pena expressed his excitement at this year’s installment, stating, “We are elated and more than eager to bring the third edition of the Musivv Awards to life with a live awarding ceremony.” The event will be opened with a scintillating performance from British Emirati teen pop singer and Musivv’s Ambassador, Alya, among other regional and international musical talents.

Musivv remains steadfast in its mission to serve as the distinguished music platform that supports independent artists in the UAE, regardless of their nationality or genre while we do have many from the UAE itself. The platform has grown to become more than just a digital platform, but a thriving community of musicians, singers, and artists who share a passion for music as a universal language.

In a move to further its vision, Musivv has joined forces with BarCoe Studio, an Abu Dhabi-based artist management company that shares a similar vision of unifying the UAE’s music scene.BarCoe Studio CEO Sean Barcoe noted, “The synergies between Musivv and BarCoe make it easier to bring independent artists to the global stage. We can achieve more together.”

Sennheiser Middle East is the title sponsor of the awards for the same reason. Mig Cardamone, Regional Sales Director, Sennheiser Middle East says, “Sennheiser supports musicians across the globe. Our website features many artists around the world who are backed by us. We are pleased to be associated with this initiative since Musivv is a non-commercial enterprise to encourage local musicians. It is founded and run by musicians on a voluntary basis inspired by their love of music. The platform has a roster of varied musicians and a wealth of experience working with them in the region. These efforts encourage growth of talent and add to the local culture.”

The selection process for the awards begins with recommendations from various record labels in the region. A nominating body then reviews these recommendations and selects nominees based on various categories and criteria. The final list of nominees is then submitted to an external jury, who casts its votes. The secure ballots are then sent directly to HMA Auditing, an impartial third-party commissioned to count and validate the votes. The results will remain confidential and will be revealed only during the ceremony.

This year’s ceremony, which coincidentally takes place on Women’s Day, will pay homage to women with its Female Artist of the Year award to be presented by Musivv co-founder Farinoosh Younus. The Musivv Awards remain dedicated to bringing the best of independent music to the forefront and promoting unity and collaboration within the music industry.
