Social Distrikt, Dubai’s popular Urban Food and Bar hall, is currently hosting the ‘Battle of the Burgers’ event, where twenty-eight local foodies and aspiring at-home chefs entered the popular competition. The semi-finals took place in May, which saw ten shortlisted participants come together to fight it out for a place in the top three, and move onto the grand finale. The top three selected chefs will battle it out to represent the UAE at the World Food Championships in Dallas, Texas – the first time the UAE has ever competed in this event.

This weekend, Saturday 11th June, Social Distrikt will host the championship finals, where the standing participants will compete in a series of mini cook-off events in hopes of taking home the title of “Best Home-made Burger Maker of Dubai”; the event is open to anyone who wishes to witness the great culinary battle.

The gripping semi-final event was held on the 21st and 22nd of May at Social Distrikt, where a series of expert judges, including Dubai’s pro-chefs and restaurateurs, chose between ten contestants to move on to compete at this weekend’s grand finale.

Mohamad Al Darwish, Sultan Chatila, and Jihad Tayara were awarded the top three places and progressed through to the concluding round of the exciting event, the “final cook-off”.

Organized by Cucina Del Sul, doors are open to local burger fanatics and foodies who wish to participate in the tasting and voting for Dubai’s Battle of the Burger winner at the grand finale evening event. Patrons can expect to witness live competitive cooking, savor a delicious meal, and enjoy entertainment for a price of AED 260. The event will also offer pre-competition chips and dips, fries, soft drinks and dessert, with alcoholic beverages sold separately at the Social Distrikt bar.
