Start The Cycle Season With Spinneys Dubai 92 Cycle Challenge And Celebrate 10 Years Of Cycling
Registration for the biggest cycle challenge in the Middle East, the Spinneys Dubai 92 Cycle Challenge is now open – taking place on Friday, November 29 with three supporting Build-Up rides in the lead-up to the main event. The popular sporting event is celebrating 10 years of cycling this year and in recognition of this special milestone, organisers of the event have extended the route to 100km with many other exciting activities planned.
The Spinneys Dubai 92 Cycle Challenge season begins on Friday, 20 September with the first of three Build-Up Rides. These Build-Up Rides are designed to prepare cyclists for the biggest challenge of the season – the 100km event in November, with the increase in distance at each ride. The 45km ride will take place at Al Qudra and will be followed by a lively Cycle Village where cyclists can indulge in a number of breakfast options provided by Spinneys after their ride and take part in fun activities for the entire family who come along to support.
Stewart Howison, Race Director commented: “Cycling in the UAE has come a long way since we launched 10 years ago with now plenty of cycle paths on offer and we are so excited to be part of this journey with our yearly events.
“This year’s event will be bigger than ever as we celebrate our 10 year anniversary and we want everyone to have the opportunity to get on that bike. The Build-Up Rides are the ideal place for that first pedal stroke and to start building your confidence in preparation for the 100km race in November.”
In addition, Wahoo KICKR will be providing prizes once again for the fastest accumulated time for Build-Up Ride 3 and the 100km Spinneys Dubai 92 Cycle Challenge. Four prizes to be won for: fastest male, fasted female, fasted junior male and fastest junior female.
And finally, we won’t just be seeing cyclists at the Dubai Autodrome in November, as part of the Cycle Challenge weekend, the Al Jalila Foundation will host a People of Determination Walk. The walk is taking place on Friday, November 29 and all the proceeds will go towards the Al Jalila Foundation.
For all those who are new to the sport, the official bike store, Revolution Cycles Dubai will be on-site at every race to ensure that newcomers are well-looked-after with great bikes to rent and a handful of helpful hints and tips to start their exciting cycling journey. For all cyclists who wish to register but do not have a bike there’s a bike and helmet rental option in the registration process.
