In support of the UAE Government’s move declaring 2019 as the Year of Tolerance, Storytel, the Arabic division of Europe’s leading platform for audiobooks, has set up a recording studio booth at the ongoing 11th Emirates Airline Festival of Literature in Dubai to allow visitors to share their thoughts on how they live and spread the message of tolerance in the country.

Storytel Arabia is one of the exhibitors of this year’s edition, which kicked off on March 1, 2019 and will run until March 9, 2019 under the theme ‘United by Words.’ Participants visiting the company’s exhibition stand will get to record their insights into why accepting each other’s differences and opinions and promoting peaceful co-existence are the core of a harmonious and unified local society. Storytel Arabia has dubbed the recordings as ‘Words of Tolerance.’

Ammar Mardawi, Country Manager, Storytel Arabia, said: “Storytel’s recording booth aims to actively engage our booth visitors not only with the festival’s theme but also with the national Year of Tolerance initiative launched by the UAE Government to celebrate one of the principles espoused by the UAE’s founding father. From all these recordings, we will choose the best of the best and put them in an audiobook, to further inspire our users to embrace uniqueness and to love and respect each other despite our differences.”

“In line with the UAE’s Year of Tolerance, we hope to encourage more people to spread the message of tolerance and acceptance. What better way to do this than to join the Emirates Airline Festival of Literature, the Arab world’s largest celebration of the written and spoken word. We are proud to be part of an event that shares the same ideology as ours. We already have a number of moving and impactful messages from our visitors of different ages and backgrounds and we cannot wait to share them with the users of Storytel application,” Mardawi added.

The ‘Words of Tolerance’ project is one of Storytel Arabia’s ways of promoting the noble message of tolerance across all segments of society, most especially in the younger generation. Storytel is currently operating in 15 countries.
