THE BEACH, the upbeat outdoor destination by Meraas, hosted notable Emirati authors to celebrate the love of reading during the Holy Month of Ramadan with #Story to Share Book Donation Campaign.

Authors Omar Al Busaidy (Just Read It), Alia Al Hazami (Alatash), and UAEBBY board member Maitha Al Khayat (Illustrator), along with Iman Ben Chaibah, founder of Sail Publishing signed and donated their books for the worthy cause and commemorated the event at Big Chefs restaurant.

Along with THE BEACH, CITY WALK and BOXPARK have also embarked upon the unique ‘Book Donation’ initiative for Ramadan. A collaborative effort between the retail entities at the three destinations and the UAE Board on Books for Young People (UAEBBY), the initiative invites visitors to donate their favourite books at designated collection boxes.

The UAEBBY is affiliated to the International Board on Books for Young People (IBBY) and is a non-profit organization aiming to revitalize the art of reading among the UAE population, especially children.

With the help of social media hashtags Arabic: # تبرع_بكتابك  ; English: #StoryToShare, the initiative between Meraas and UAEBBY aims to share knowledge with the community, in keeping with the ethos of the Ramadan month.
