The Dubai Mall Partners With Beijing’s M WOODS Museum For Dubai’s 2019 Art Season
The Dubai Mall is celebrating Dubai’s art season and the Spring/Summer fashion season with
M WOODS at The Dubai Mall, an exclusive art exhibition curated by Michael Xufu Huang in partnership with M WOODS, one of Beijing’s most influential contemporary art museums.
From March 12–April 30, nearly 40 of the world’s most important Western and Chinese contemporary artworks from M WOODS’ permanent collection will be on view for the first time in the Middle East in seven specially created museum-like pavilions throughout Fashion Avenue. The exhibition is presented in partnership with Dubai Tourism and Emirates NBD.
Artists and artworks represented in M WOODS at The Dubai Mall include Taiwanese modernist and minimalist master Richard Lin; Andy Warhol’s Silver Cloud installation; Paul McCarthy’s screening of ‘cisuM fo dnuoS ehT / The Sound of Music’; expressionistic Chinese contemporary artist Zeng Fanzhi; in addition to James Turrell, Lu Yang, Amalia Ulman, Emirati artist Mohammed Kazem and many others.
M WOODS is an independent, not-for-profit art museum founded in 2014 by collectors Lin Han and Wanwan Lei, and co-founded by Mr. Huang. Housed in a former munitions factory in Beijing’s 798 Art District, M WOODS opened to the public with a permanent collection based on the founders’ private collection of international art.
M WOODS at The Dubai Mall forms part of the ART+ Series and is open to the public from March 12– April 30 during mall operational hours. During this time, Emirates NBD U By Emaar credit card holders can benefit from additional earnings on all purchases made at any store in Fashion Avenue.
