Releasing in the UAE on the 22nd  March 2018 – the thrilling tale of Red Sparrow features the journey of a Dominika Egorova, who turns from a prima ballerina to a weapon of the Russian state.Played by Jennifer Lawrence, Dominika faces a bleak and uncertain future after she suffers an injury that ends her career, she turns to Sparrow School, a secret intelligence service that trains exceptional young people to use their minds and bodies as weapons. Egorova emerges as the most dangerous Sparrow after completing the sadistic training process. As she comes to terms with her new abilities, Dominika meets a CIA agent who tries to convince her that he is the only person she can trust.

Red Sparrow is directed by acclaimed film-maker Frances Lawrence who worked with Jennifer Lawrence in three of the four films in the Hunger Games series. Red Sparrow is based on the novel, under the same name, written by Jason Matthews a former Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) operative “I fell in love with the book immediately,” says Frances Lawrence. “It just felt really fresh in terms of spy stories, and I fell in love with the character of Dominika Egorova, and her personal journey and her personal story and her dilemma in the story.”

Starring alongside Jennifer Lawrence is Joel EdgertonMatthias Schoenaerts, Charlotte Rampling, Mary-Louise Parker, and Jeremy Irons.  Speaking about the making of the film, Jennifer Lawrence admits she was in awe of Irons. “I was so intimidated,” she says. “I mean, it’s Jeremy Irons! He’s actually the nicest person, and so much fun to work with but doing scenes with him is so powerful. Even when I watch them back now I can feel how I felt when I was doing them with him. He just completely transforms.”

Red Sparrow releases across cinemas in the UAE on the 22nd March 2018.
