Thousands Of UAE Labourers Set To Compete In ‘Western Union’s Camp KA Champ’
Over 4,000 contestants will be contesting in Western Union’s singing competition which is called ‘Camp ka Champ’. It is something for the labourers so that it could make the labourers happy and bring smiles to their faces.
This competition was started in 2007 and has grown since then as they increased the number of participating companies from 3 to 24.
The ninth edition of this competition was presented by Du and was launched on July 23 this year covering 140 labour accommodations and over 4000 of these will be auditioned across the country.
Rupa Vinod, Managing Director, Right Track Advertising and contest organizers have said that the 9th season started on a positive note and it saw many talented singers participate in the audition which made the competition really tough.
Marc Aubrey, Vice-President Marketing at Western Union spoke about the seriousness of the competition and also said that this competition is anticipated by thousands of people, both the participants and the audience watching it as well.
He mentioned about the level of hardwork of the customers who send money to their family and friends and feels that this competition is a really good platform that brings out their talent in a fun an entertaining way.
Hala Badri, Executive Vice President, Brand and Communications of Du said that the labour community is an important part of our country and without them no one would have been able to enjoy the beautiful Dubai Skyline and said that Du are excited to be offering support to this community and bring smiles on the faces of thousands of people.
The winner of the “Western Union Camp ka Champ” will walk away with a Dh50,000 cash prize from Du, gold from Western Union, electronics from Geepas, air tickets from Air Arabia and much more.
The 9th season will bought to an audience outside the Labour Community. Those wanting to hear the labourers sing can tune into Radio 4- 89.1 FM and participate in this special event from September onwards.
